February 2001

Paris has worn its winter coat this month and if you are coming in Paris do not forget your coat and your hat !

Paris news For the New Year Eve and during the first week of January the Tower Eiffel was enlighten in blue...

http://www.artday.com/images/w080101.jpg. Mountaineers (from French Alps) have put something like blue socks on each light till the top of the tower during a couple of nights just before the eve. But as the result was not at all as expected the same mountainers have been requested to climb again at the top of the tower to put off all socks .... and today the Tower is sparkling again in white every hours after the sunset during 10 minutes .
Crazy, no ?
You can see this beautiful spectacle during the n ext few months, until next summer. http://www.artday.com/images/w220101.jpg

Paris to see It was built for few weeks in year 2000 but it is still there : "Le Mur pour La Paix" . It is a nice place to see the tower, just in front of the "Ecole Militaire", because you see it like inside a frame. The "world Peace" is written in a lot of alphabets on walls lade of glass.
Put your owm peace message, it will be displayed on the " world Peace" in PARIS:

Paris panoramic The Large "Fairy wheel": It was built for Year 2000 but it will be staying for the next few months Place de la Concorde: It is, really, the best place to see Paris with the Arc de Triumph, the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower of course ! (if you don’t have vertigo).

Paris olympic Paris city is officialy candidate for the Olympic Games in 2008! Cross the fingers... it should be great ! http://www.paris2008.frhttp://www.paris2008.fr/

Paris insolite If you are close to the "Place des Vosges" , do not hesitate to walk to an authentic house in this beautiful place :La Maison de Victor Hugo.
Victor Hugo is one of the famous author (Notre-Dame de Paris) , poet, designer and politic man of the XIX century. He was very hungry against Napoleon III and was obliged to leave out a France for a while. His life is a roman and his ashes are in the Pantheon. Like a small museum, his house is a nice pretext to visit one of the beautiful houses of the Place des Vosges .  La maison de Victor Hugo, 6 Place des Vosges, 75004 Paris http://www.paris.org/Musees/Hugo/gifs/hugo.gif
